VPP™ MVNO s
The programme for third parties provides an end-to-end framework for launching an MVNO, from initial engagement, through negotiating wholesale agreements with mobile operators, to delivery and launch of the service. |

Piran Partners' VPP for MVNOs.
Understanding the nuances of how each mobile operator does business is key to predicting the likely success of any new mobile service proposition. Prior preparation, careful positioning, clear articulation of the value of the proposition, realism over timescales, costs and issues plus consistency all help tremendously in this process. Although obvious, this plain and simple approach is surprisingly difficult to orchestrate successfully.
Piran Partners Third Party, Virtual Partner Programme (VPP) enables third parties to deliver the most valuable asset to their business – an agreement with a mobile operator.
Scoping
This stage ensures the client is clear on its mobile operator engagement strategy and understands likely issues prior to engagement. In Piran Partners’ opinion you should never approach a mobile operator before your story is ready and you understand the mobile operator’s hurdles / key drivers - including a strong consumer proposition, associated market research and a comprehensive business case.
Where necessary a board-level decision pack is developed in order that a client can make an informed “Go”, “No-Go” MVNO decision.
Operator Engagement
Piran Partners will make formal approaches to the identified mobile operators. We will clearly articulate the exact nature of the proposition, the target market and the sales and marketing strategy. Subscriber forecasts are also presented with evidenced justification that they are achievable together with key commercial metrics such as ARPU, plus any specific operational or commercial requirements you have.
Commercial Contract Agreement
Given interest from one or more mobile operators, Piran Partners now sets out a timeline against which the mobile operators are required to comply. The objective is to gain a written offer from one or more mobile operators as quickly as possible and stimulate, if possible, competition.
Detailed point-by-point negotiation will be required to agree a mutually acceptable termsheet and thereafter a contract.
Programme Delivery
The process of designing the functional elements, allocation of tasks between the various parties and project planning tends to be an iterative process throughout the preceding stages.
Typically high level architecture design and project planning is included as part of this stage, this can also extend to vendor/partner selection, vendor and programme management and technical liaison with the mobile operator.
